In July 2019, it was announced Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson had begun developing a television series revolving around Black Mafia Family, which he would executive produce for Starz.[19] In April 2020, Starz greenlit the series. Production companies are slated to consist of Lionsgate Television and G-Unit Films and Television Inc.[20] On September 30, 2021, Starz renewed the series for a second season only 4 days after the series' premiere.[21] The second season is scheduled to premiere on January 6, 2023.[22] On January 18, 2023, Starz renewed the series for a third season.[23]
In December 2020, Russell Hornsby and Steve Harris joined the cast of the series, with Kash Doll set to star in a recurring role.[24] In January 2021, Demetrius Flenory Jr., Da'Vinchi, Michole Briana White, Ajiona Alexus, Eric Kofi-Abrefa and Myles Truitt joined the cast in starring roles.[25][26] In March 2021, Snoop Dogg, La La Anthony and Serayah joined the cast in recurring role.[27] In September 2021, Sean Michael Gloria was cast in a recurring role.[28] In March 2022, La La Anthony had been promoted to series regular while Kelly Hu was cast as a new series regular and Christine Horn and Leslie Jones joined the cast in a recurring role for the second season.[1][2] In February 2023, 2 Chainz and Ne-Yo were cast in recurring roles for the third season.[29]
It is a known fact that BMF has been renewed for a second season and the first season had to set that up well. Crime dramas tend to end seasons on cliffhangers or massive questions, and BMF's final episode did both.
B-Mickie shot the woman he loved at the end of the last episode, owing to his loyalty to the family. It can be assumed that he will not crack easily. But to what extent can Det Bryant pressurize him, and if successfully done so, what will become of B-Mickie is one of the main questions the next season will answer.
Where the story will go without Terry being part of the bigger picture is a question fans have to ponder on until next season. It is, however, more than likely that Terry will come back, but if so, what will his reasons be? If not, the brothers will be forever walking on different paths.
Starz has done extremely well with crime drama series in the last few years. Will this new show be a solid performer as well? Will BMF be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
This season finale will also mark the birth of BMF or the Black Mafia Family. The Flenory brothers step away from the moniker the 50 Boyz forever. Finally, Hornsby has hinted at a massive cliffhanger to end the season.
The second season of BMF kicks off in full gear with action, suspense, and a union that will set off great stories for the rest of the season. I cannot wait to see where the story will go by the end of the second season.
Its first season shows the trials and tribulations of their come-up, focusing on how they got into the drug-selling business and the ingenious methods they used to maintain a safe environment to operate from. It highlights the difficulties in ideology the brothers had together and how that would come into play with the opposing gangs set in their regressive ways. By its end, we see the brothers make a firm footing in the game as top dealers in Detroit and encourage a near-broken family to accept their newfound money and fame.
The second season, which is streaming now on Lionsgate+, sees Meech and Terry embark on taking their business nationwide with eyes for a global takeover, as well as giving birth to the name and entity BMF.
The Starz-created BMF series has officially returned with its second season. In the above video, we review BMF Season 2 Episode 1 and talk about a few important topics surrounding the show.
However, despite appearing to finally kill the bloodthirsty Lamar, actor Eric Kofi Abrefa has refused to rule out returning in season 2, meaning that he could still be out there on the loose and that no one close to Meech or Terry is safe.
As we get ourselves prepared for the BMF season 2 premiere at Starz at the moment, what do we actually know at present? Just like you would expect, there are a few different things worth getting into here.
At this point, it is pretty easy to summarize what Starz seems to be doing when it comes to withholding the date: They are allowing the documentary to take center stage, and they may be acutely aware at the moment of the fact that if they are to release more information on season 2, including a date, they take away from what they are actually bringing to the table now. 041b061a72
